Hello all,

I am having a little trouble with the coursework section on my app. At my school the labs aren't counted for credit, they are just part of the course (ex. my gen chem class is worth 3 credits, the lab is indicated as 0 credits on my transcript). What should I enter on my app? Should I assume that they know I had a lab for these classes or should I specifically add a 0 credit course?

I would just add it as a 0.00 credit course. They allow for that on AADSAS, and they want you to input your classes exactly how they appear on your transcript.

Well I am using my unoffical transcripts to fill in my app and they dont appear on there (made a mistake in the initial post). Not sure what to do lol. If its EXACTLY how its supposed to appear...I shouldnt?

it says EXACTLY how it appears on your transcript. Does it show up on your official transcript?

See thats just it, I dont know. On my school websites I have the option to "view your transcript" but I dont know if this is an official/unofficial one, and whether it shows up exactly as it would when the registrar mails it for me. Should I go to the registrars office and actually get a printed copy for myself?

And if the labs don't show up on my official one, would you suggest still adding something to indicate I had them?

If you can view your transcript, it should be an unofficial copy, which should resemble your official transcript. The only thing that makes it official is that it came out of the registrars. If you're still worried about it, just call up your registrars office and make sure that the unofficial version is the same of the official.

yea...only difference between official and unofficial is that it's not sealed or stamped on official letterhead. That's a good question. I feel like I would probably still add it, but give it 00 credits. If it asked you what grade you got in the lab, what would you say? you didn't have grades for that, right?

Yeah, I didnt have any official grades for the lab. Any grades we got for labwork was just incorporated into our main coursework. I asked someone else and they didnt put in their labs, apparently they assume Canadian applicants have labs included with their courses but im not sure. 😕

or maybe, as I am entering the lecture, I also add "and Lab".

For example, if I took General Chemistry, I would say "General Chemistry and lab"

I don't know to be honest. That is an interesting situation. I'd call the AADSAS people tomorrow and see what they say

Maybe just go get an official copy for yourself, can't be more than 15 bucks. If lab is a part of the class there is no separate lab course...
