1) If there were periods longer than 3 months, from the time you graduated from high school to now, when you were not employed full-time or in college full-time, please briefly describe your activities. (Limit 150 words) (SUNY Downstate)

2) If you did not go to college directly after high school, please explain. (1400 char) (Boston University)

Did they forget not everyone graduates HS...

I would just reword it as if it were "from the time you received your GED" etc.

I'm not sure if this works. Someone could receive their GED at age 30 and that would certainly require some explaining. I received my GED around when my HS peers graduated (I attended HS but didn't graduate). I started college the same time as my HS peers (less than a 3 month gap).

Obviously it is not going to work for everyone, but it also obviously works for you and you don't have any additional explaining to do. So what are you arguing about again?

Then you don't answer either question? If what you said above is true, i.e., you graduated high school in 4 years and started college at the same time as your peers, then neither situation applies to you.

I did not graduate high school, I got a GED because of other reasons. I did attend HS, I just didn't graduate from one. So I'm not sure to really explain that. And yes, the reasons for getting a GED are not good and I would prefer not to explain why I got my GED if I don't have to.

Assuming I understood your posts correctly, you 1) graduated from HS on time, 2) did not have any significant gaps in your education following graduation from HS (which is all question #1 is asking), and 3) you started college immediately after graduating from HS (addressing question #2). I'm not sure what the problem is here.

No. The reason I'm struggling with this question is because I started HS and was supposed to graduate on time but instead got kicked out my senior year. I got my GED around June/July and matriculated to college a few months later in August/September.

This does not apply to either question that you posted.

is your struggle that you can't read properly?
"If there were periods longer than 3 months, from the time you graduated from high school to now, when you were not employed full-time or in college full-time, please briefly describe your activities."

Getting GED = graduating from high school. You have no other gaps after that. Nothing needs to be explained

I think it does because they asked if I had any gaps between graduating HS and starting college…which if I technically graduated HS I could say no, but I got a GED! Do I just say "I got a GED at age 17 in June/July 2011 and matriculated to college september 2011."?

Sorry I just am a little apprehensive about saying "no" without addressing the GED in lieu of a HS diploma.

I dunno, man. Just answer the question however you want. I'm not sure if you're having trouble understanding the question, but as @skooper mentioned, it's quite apparent that this doesn't apply to you.

You're creating problems for yourself. Just stop now and answer the question.

you will be more apprehensive after someone reads your secondary and thinks you're stoopid for thinking that a GED vs. high school graduation needs to be explained

you don't want to mention the GED but there are 4 people telling you it's ok to not write it and you insist on mentioning it????? wut is wrong wif u

Or explain what he did between getting his GED and entering college? You don't think that works??
?? Why's he need to explain that? He took a regular summer off between the GED and college. A regular summer is <3 months.
folks this isn't hard – follow the directions, read, and use common sense

That's exactly what I'm saying. Where did you misunderstand me??????

You're saying he needs to explain between GED and college. I am saying he doesn't need to explain anything because that period was less than 3 months and the question only asks for more than a 3-month period.

That's not what I said. I'm saying there no difference between a GED & diploma in his case because there wasn't really a gap in between whatever form of high school he completed and college. That's what I said. I said exactly what I meant. You simply misunderstood me.

I still think they should be more clear that GED = graduating HS. If people ask if I graduated HS, I don't say yes.

I still think it would be a good idea to say no there was no gap between getting a GED and starting college.

I would address reapp questions the same way if asked in a secondary.

"Have you ever applied to X SOM?"
"No I never previously applied to X SOM."

The terrors of the secondaries.

ok so why you bother to make thread if ignore what ppl say?
