Angle ranking is killing me.. I am not sure but my stigmatism in eyes are preventing me from distingushing anything below 5 degrees.... any good strategy?

Hole punching, I tend to follow one hole until the end of it then do process of elimination. But still difficult because there are too many traps... 😡 any better strategies??

Angle ranking just sucks period. There are a lot of visualizations you can use, but it only helps so much.

However, you can def master hole punching easily.

Buy a bunch of post it notes and a single hole puncher.
For any question you have trouble visualizing, fold the post it note as the question shows, punch the holes than study what it looks like after you fold/unfold.

I did this for at least 200 questions. Hole punching got so much easier after that. I didn't think I could do it, but I managed to get to the point where I could finish the section under 10 mins not missing more than 1 or 2.

Good luck!

Also, there is a great tutorial on hole punching that I linked to on my blog. I think his name was 2ndDmd but if you go to acedat.blogspot.com, under that PAT tab I linked a URL straight to his thread.

My exam is in 2 weeks and i am still struggling with Angle Ranking and hole punching....
For the hole punching, i make a 4x4 grid about 15 of them before i start the PAT section and i follow each hole and mark it. Its working so far... but still, the complicated ones i skip it right away....
For the Angles, I am also stuck... I am getting like 40% to 60% max!!

Angle ranking is very random for me as well.. 60-80% btw different exams. With that said, with practice TFE and keyhole isn't too bad and you should be getting 80-90% of that (practice makes perfect..)

holepunching is basically bookkeeping lols.. again practice.

I ran 2 exams a day in order to get better... still not great (avg 20) but still a working progress (started with 18). Keep going. =)

I got a 98+ percentile on the PAT
I bought the 10 test Crack the PAT and did everything. The biggest hurdle with the PAT is timing, and if you're not practicing with a timer you're going to have trouble on the DAT.

For angles, I was first having alot of trouble with them, I went to the eye doctor and it turns out I actually needed glasses. The angles on the DAT were more obvious than on Crack the PAT, so that was a help. As for solving them, I found imagining I was skiing down a hill(side of the angle). From that I'd determine which "hill" was steeper. If it means you need to tilt your head to line it up, do it. Heck, I even got out of my chair during the DAT to solve a couple. On the DAT, you'll also be able to use process of elimination on some of the questions. I either found the largest or smallest angle, which are usually obvious, and from there I'd compare the angles based on the answer choices.

For Hole Punching. First create a 4 X 4 Grid. This grid will correspond to the potential areas on the paper a hole can be made. Start at the last figure given and work backwards. Put an X in whatever box has a hole punch, and use the folds as lines of symmetry to translate the additional holes.
