I'm applying in July. I am interning at a vision therapy office (od) now. How and when do I ask the od to write my rec letter? How do i approach him?

Er...If you already know the doctor personally, at LEAST give him the courtesy of asking them in person!! Unless it's physically unreasonable (maybe you've gone back to school and don't live in that town anymore), at least call the guy. Email should be a last resort, especially if you're trying to get a good letter.
