Okay this may be a stupid question but I'm sure all of you probably have had the same problem at least sometime during the application process...

You right up your secondary essays, submit your application. You get an email from school x saying "Thank you for submitting your application". You go to AMCAS' website and designate the appropriate letters to the school.

Now some schools have nice little "check status" pages. Other's don't. How do I know that I'm done for sure? I would hate to get an email 2 months from now from school x saying they never got my letter or my payment...

Maybe we can gather a list of notifications/emails people shoudl expect to receive to be sure their application is done and complete...

Some schools tell you on their website, some e-mail you, and some force you to call them. I agree that a list of what school does what would be helpful.

Although some schools have the status check pages and some send the courtesy emails, ultimately it is your responsibility to follow up on your applications.

I made a folder in my email strictly for secondary applications. When I am complete, I flag the email so I know I'm done with it.

Just go to the school specific 2009-2010 section and click on your school's thread. People typically post their correspondences with the med school each step of the way, incl. how they find out they're complete.
