How do I know which SMP/post-baccs are beneficial?

I'd like to eventually apply to one of these programs, but I can't for the life of me figure out which ones are worth a damn. I don't really want to spend 10's of thousands of dollars and come out no better than I went in. Thanks for any advice guys!

Ask their directors what is thier success rate at getting students into medical school.

Thanks guys! Is it correct to say that linkage programs are becoming increasingly more rare? I don't see many official linkage programs.

BTW when you do inquire about directors of SMP about acceptance rate, do find out exactly what that means. How many students enter the program, how many complete, if there is any minimum completion, how many meet the minimums for linkage, how many get acceptance via linkage, how many to other med schools, if there is any minimum for a committee letter, etc.

This.
My postbacc likes to pretend a whole bunch of enrollees never existed when giving stats . . . it's like all my classmates who they wouldn't support with a committee letter or who couldn't hack the academics were never there.

A lot of programs will have a webpage that shows where their graduates were accepted to medical/dental school (and anywhere else they may have ended up). While this is somewhat useful, it doesn't really paint the whole picture. Is it wonderful if an SMP can get 40 graduates per year into their state medical school within two years? Absolutely. It doesn't look so well when that is 40 graduates out of 200.
