How do I/you know if this is right for me/you?

Or how did you come to know that this was right for you? I am extremely interested in the eye. My worst fear is becoming blind. So, I do want to prevent that. Is Medical School that hard, or is it over rated??

What would you advise someone who is very much interested, but not completely sure if this is "it"?

I'm not sure if you're talking about ophthalmology or optometry...medical school?

It definitely took personal experience and exposure to the profession; can't be committed to something if you can't understand it. See if your school has a pre-optometry club, that would help as well.

Agreed with above posters. Follow some professionals around and ask them questions about their work, school, etc. Ask yourself if you could see that lifestyle.
