How do LOR writers submit to interfolio?

I just created my interfolio account, but I am very confused about the logistics behind professors sending/uploading the letter to my account. do i need to give my professors my account information? there really isn't any information on the interfolio website. thanks!

There is a thing in interfolio where you can print or email a request form and send it to the letter writer. The letter writer will then write the letter and either email it or snail mail it with this request form attached. Interfolio will then get both of those papers (the request form and the letter) and will upload it within a week or two.

Personally I was sketched out doing the email form. So I just printed it, gave it to him with my resume, he wrote the letter, sent it in with the request form that I gave him. Saw the letter uploaded a couple weeks later.

Go to dossier and request a recommendation letter. Put their email in there.

Thanks guys. i see the email request page on interfolio, so do i just put the prof's email address their, and interfolio will do the rest?

what's with this additional form that the prof has to fill out? will it be provided by interfolio along with all the relevant instructions?

I also printed the request form and then put that in my LOR envelope, which includes:

Preadressed and stamped envelope to interfolio.

Letter from me for the requested LOR

Copy of my resume

but couldn't the recommender directly upload the letter to itnerfolio via email? why do we need any forms of paper letter with interfolio

Yes they can. I just prefer to use the paper method.

i think i am gonna use the email method just cause it'll be easier on the professors. so will interfolio have all the instructions for the professors? aka instructions on how to upload letter, etc? thanks again!

Yep! It's a great website/service. Out of the 3 LOR's I have so far, only one (my organic chem professor) mailed it with the envelope I provided them with. The other two just gave me the letter and envelope so I could look it over and then send it myself.

Still have two letters to go then I'll be fine with LOR's.

I opted to not use my undergrad universities pre med committee letter. So I have 2 science 1 non science a do and an md- some schools want all that so I'm making sure I'm set no matter what.
