How do medical schools view students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds? Obviously this is different than URM, but I was just wondering if/how this factors into a medical school's opinion of your application. Thanks.

I feel like that was one of the first questions on AMCAS, and I'm pretty sure they would view it favorably in terms of admission.

thanks

You'll get into one of the FL schools. I worked for FH and did the scribe thing and FP observership at East....my grades/mcat weren't as good as yours. I didn't apply MD but had a pretty easy time w/ DO. Seems like you'll do fine.

Thanks.. did you do the scribe thing through ScribeAmerica?

I know Michigan State looks very favorably on people coming from disadvantaged backgrounds.
