How do schools calculate GPA, based on what quarters?

I was just wondering if anyone knew, I'm taking summerschool this year and I was wondering if the courses I'm taking are going to be factored into my GPA for when I apply during fall. I was trying to pile on the prereqs during spring quarter in hopes of raising my GPA, but if its possible to take them in the summer that would be great.

You pharmcas GPA will include the courses you take this summer, and eventually the courses you take this coming fall.
