Hey guys,
I wanted to cast my net wide and avoid reapplying. People keep saying to apply to all your state schools, but I don't have any. I'm just wondering if adcoms see us as disadvantaged even if we are not URM.

Any insight will be helpful! Thanks!

Also, completed a secondary from a school that did not even list my territory (for the state of legal residence option) but two territories were there (ha!). That was a total turn off and made me really sad. lol.

Even some states in the continental US have no public med school (for example, New Hampshire). Doesn't give you honorary URM status unfortunately.

Territory like Guam, Saipanm US Virgin Islands, or the Marianas?
Haven't a clue myself..we've never gotten an applicant from there!

Haha! I see. Well now it makes sense that some schools dont list our territory. I guess I shouldnt feel so left out.
Thanks Goro!

So many posts on SDN lately with kids trying to appropriate URM status, lmao
Hahaha! I was really honest and kept true to my roots. Made it clear on my prompts that I am not native. But thanks. lol

Many Pacific Islanders are considered URM.. Natives, not Caucasian transplants.
Yup! Made sure that I indicated my true ethnicity despite being brown. Lol. Last thing I want is to get into med school saying Im pacific islander when I am not. lol. Thanks tho.
