Upper-division BCPM undergraduate courses completed:
Human Genetics (Bio dept.)
Human Reproduction (Bio dept.)
Medical Botany + lab (Bio dept.)
Human Endocrinology (Bio dept.)
Motor Control + lab (Bio dept.)
Human Anatomy (Bio dept.)
Calc 1 and Calc 2 (Math dept.)

Upper-division BCPM post-baccalaureate courses completed:
Biophysics (Physics dept.)
General Biochemistry 1, 2 and 3 (Chem dept.)
Biostatistics (Stats dept.)
Nucleic Acid Chemistry (Chem dept.)
Neuroscience (Bio dept.)
Major Organ Biochemistry (Chem dept.)
Molecular Cell Biology (Bio dept.)
Protein Structure (Chem dept.)
Independent Study (Bio dept.)

As you can see, I've taken many chemistry courses at my post-bacc and have done well in all of them. Since I've taken mostly biology courses during my undergrad, I wanted to take more chemistry classes later. Is it looked down upon that I took so many chemistry classes as opposed to Immunology/Physiology/Microbiology?

Thank you!

Nope it will not be looked down upon! Don't worry. It's nice to have a few upper-level bio classes, but you definitely covered that. What will matter more now is how you did in these classes and what your overall GPA's are. Good luck!

No one cares. As long as you have a good cGPA/sGPA, you're all set.

For people who don't major in biology (like me) we have pretty much nothing outside of the minimum when it comes to prereqs - 1-1.5 years w/ lab and maybe 2-3 upper div electives. We do fine so I'm sure you'll be fine too!

Hi, I didn't want to create a new thread, but I had a small question about Bio Lab prerequisites. My school doesn't offer two semesters of introductory biology lab for Bio 1 and Bio 2; they basically combine both intro labs into one two credit hour lab that requires Bio 1 as a prerequisite. There's an upper division class called "Lab Studies In Molecular Biology". The description states "The methods and principles of molecular biology in a research laboratory context. Students conduct a research project directed by a faculty member." Do you guys this will be an appropriate replacement for the lack of the second biology lab? Thanks!

Yes. You'll be fine.
