Ok, let's say I have this 'friend' that registered for the DAT but he misspelled his name on the application but didn't notice it until after the confirmation email. Would this 'friend' of mine have to call up the ADA to get it straightened out or is there a way that I...I mean my friend could go into the submitted application and change it?

what's the point in calling yourself "your friend?"....

Does your friend, by any chance, happen to be........you?

Try and go into the submitted application and change it yourself, and if you can't do that, the obvious thing to do is to call up ADA and straighten it out!

You could have thought of that now.........right?

Wow, two of the brightest people on SDN responded to my post. I feel so special. Let's see...since you can't go into the submitted application, I guess your advice, shy guy, is complete garbage.

well, i mean, your question was pretty stupid...and the way you even did that "friend/I" thing was stupid too..so how did you want us to respond?

you really only have one option...and that's to call ADA...how else were you thinking about getting your name changed? you thought AADSAS would do it for you? -_-

Well, if you can't go into the submitted application, then why did you ask if this is a possibility? Just give them a call, and straighten it out!

Hmmm...many times the response is dumber than the question. You are truly a *****. First off, I was kidding around with the friend thing. I was mocking people on SDN who ask questions for their friends when they are in reality referring to themselves. The point was to find out if anyone in the same situation was able to do it electronically without dealing with the ADA...not to have an idiot like you post pointless crap and waste my time. Thanks for playing.

How someone mis-spells their own name is beyond me, but if we are talking 1-2 letters, with proper ID, this can be corrected at the test center on the test day.

Your post was not necessary. Let's avoid the name calling.

We both know you were kidding with the 'friend' thing. In fact, I found it rather amusing (I took it this way: That misspelling your name is a pretty ******ed thing to do, so you made a joke out of it by refering to your friend who made the mistake, but the funny side of it is when you actually make it obvious that it is YOU who made that ******ed error on the application).

Bottom Line: Did you take care of it yet?

SDN plus Spamers/Trolls/Post ****** = A useless website!

SDN minus Spammers/Trolls/Post ****** = A constructive insightful website!

yes, i'm a *****. but this ***** actually spelled his name right on his DAT application. you didn't.

i doubt many people are *****ic enough to spell their name wrong on their application, so if you're looking for someone in the same situation as you, congrats. you are one of a kind!

You truly are one of the biggest *****s I have ever encountered on SDN. Please save us all the horrors of reading your pointless posts. You really aren't helping anyone. At least I use proper grammar and punctuation when I type. I'm sure there are many more idiots like yourself...so sorry, you're not one of a kind. You should join a club or soemthing, maybe compete in the special olympics. Get involved with your peeps. Look into it and let us know how it goes. And Comet, it was an slight mistype and I just blew right through the application so I should have proofread it, but oh well. I'll call ADA sometime this week.

i don't think ANYBODY is a *****, but i do think everyone is HUMAN (actually i don't - but i won't go into that)

and being HUMAN means you are not perfect - even if it means misspelling your own name!

In an effort to turn a negative post into a positive, what are your guys' stats? Are you all applying this cycle? Have you applied yet? Taken the DAT? Good Luck whatever you do :luck: :luck:

make 😍 not war

Now this is HIGHLY offensive. How you can someone so insensitive be a sensitive healthcare provider? I'd report this as a bad post, but i know the mods will try contacting you soon anyway.

here is what happened to me last year.

My federal last name is different than my state last name (long story, not worth talking about here). anyways when i first signed up for the DAT i used my federal last name, but then decided that since all my certificates, transcripts, and college degree had my state last name that i would change it. I called ADA, asked them to change it and they said they changed it. And when I went to the DAT center, I didn't ahve any problems taking the test and getting my score with the "new" name. However, where I got problems is when ADA sent my scores to the schools, they sent it under my federal name, and thus not lining up with my application file. I had to contact each school to tell them where my DAT scores where. Lots of pain, espically since every school kept telling me that they don't have my scores until I figured out they actually do but not in my file!

so call them once, then call them again, and after you take the test call them again to make sure it got changed correctly
