I'm doing USMLE world questions, 50% through and I'm averaging 50%. But the frustrating thing is I'm not missing questions covered in First aid, I'm missing all the stuff not covered in review texts. Alot of this stuff is so OUT THERE as far as "what the heck are they talking about." How are people doing so well on these tests? I study and study, take notes on all the wrong answers and I still can't improve. If these questions aren't covered in high yield texts, then they aren't high yield. So is there even a point?

Just frustrated with the inability to move up with the exception for a random high score here and there. I mean, I am learning but getting 50% right isn't the way I want to go into the test. I have four weeks left till my exam so any advice I can get on improving would be appreciated.

Take a practice test and see how you are doing there. I have been in the same boat as you, only 52% at about 60% done.

I had to stop because it was all freaking me out big time. I took NBME 1 and got 217. How is that possible??? I'm not saying I don't want that score but I just don't understand. I am nowhere near getting 65%. I am going to re-work my study habits, go through Deja Review and my review book and take the exam at the end of the month. I am going to look at QBook, Kaplan and see if that works, too. I wish I had four weeks to just study, but I have to start my first rotation soon.

So you did alot better on your practice test than you were doing on USMLE world?

Well yes, I guess I did. 😕

According to that score calculator here on SDN, I should have gotten like, 175 maybe. I have no idea why/how I did so much better. I didn't think it was so hard either. That's weird and it's kind of freaking me out.

I appreciated seeing how my knowledge was broken down too. That was really helpful for future studying. I can't explain it tho.

It all depends on the individual i believe. I averaged a 56% on UW and got a 191 on form 1 and 210 on form 2. hopefully higher on the real thing. hopefully.
