How Do You Know What Charge a Metalloid Ion Has?

For the most part there is no easy way to figure that out as is for non-metals.
Anyways, SDN is not for hwk. Srry.
 
so if you had to, what would you call a Tellurium ion? Te6+ or Te2- ?
 
Answering the question with another question: can you actually show me a metalloid ion? Cu+, Ca2+, Na+ can exist in their ionic form, metalloids only exist in form of polyatomic cations, with a varying oxidation number.
Given your example, Te2- does not ionize, and Te4+ only exists in TeO3.
