Hi friends,

What is the rule for logging cases when one individual is receiving concurrent treatment to multiple differnt sites. I often treat patients who require, for example, an iso at the spine, hip and ribs. All these isos are set during one sim session. I make blocks and design fields for each site separately. In these cases, do you log only one case? Or, do you create a separate log for each site treated? To date, I have been logging only one case for these patients.

As I have thought about this, if the patient had separate simulations for each site on differnt days, I would likely log them as separate cases. However, if we treat them all at once, I log them as a single case. It seems like maybe I should just log each separate iso as a separate case? I am not really hurting for cases. I just want to keep an accurate log.

Thanks for your input!

I'm pretty sure if you sim different sites on different days your ok for two cases. Personally, the only time I credit myself with two from the same day is if one is Standard EBRT and the other is CK as those are very different plans.

It's been some time since I looked at it, but I believe the rule is that you only log multiple sims for a single patient if you sim for a separate ISO in a separate sim session or if you have a significant reduction in volume (like a boost).
