Hi! I am a bit of a weird applicant (good GPA/MCAT but limited research/clinical experience) and I have NO idea how to narrow my list. Im at like 38 at right now which seems way too high? Here are my info and list any input is appreciated!
MCAT: 525 (132/131/132/130)
GPA: 3.83, sGPA 3.89
CT Resident/US Citizen
White
Tufts Undergrad, major in Community Health
Clinical experience: I was an EMR/EMT in high school and I just rejoined my town's volunteer EMS, 20 hours of patient interaction at a free clinic, 40 hours of volunteering in a hospital as a "book cart volunteer"
Research experience: worked at public health research institution one summer and a paper I contributed to is under review for publication and I wrote a senior thesis and defended it with the highest honors > both are very public health-y
Shadowing experience: I shadowed for the first time last week (I know its bad) and will continue to shadow this doctor (infectious disease/primary care) for a total of around 50 hours this summer + will also shadow a dermatologist, pediatrician and emergency medicine doctor but its all planned for late june-august so wont appear in my primary.
Non-clinical volunteering: Worked as a volunteer tutor, did Peer Health Exchange one year, I was really involved in my school's PIH Engage organization. I volunteered on a bunch of political campaigns during undergrad and worked as a field organizer after graduating.
I would REALLY appreciate any feedback people have on my list. I am a little lost.
