How do you go about scheduling a practice exam at the prometric site for the USMLE Step 1 exam? I tried looking on the NBME site and the only thing it has are the two NBME self-assesment exams for $45 a piece. Are these the same things as the practice exam at the prometric center? If so, how do i go about signing up to take it at the center?

Also, which exam is it that i hear about that is the best predictor of your USMLE real score?

Thanks for your help! I'm really lost and confused at this point.....

There's another recent thread about this (today)...

Go to www.usmle.org and it says something like "CBT practice session" (not sure of exact wording). This is where you can sign up for practice at the center. You will need your orange slip to register. After that they will send you a yellow slip and you can sign up for a date/time with prometric once you have that.

The 150 questions you'll do at the center are the same ones they release for free (just so you know). they are different than the two 200 question $45 a piece ones.

Oh yeah, it costs $42 to do the questions at the center (as opposed to free at home) and they say it takes 2 weeks to get your yellow slip (didn't actually take that long for mine).

Hope this answers your questions.
