Aside from maybe the general education requirements specific to each school, is any body taking courses or have any ECs that are outside the box? Anything that is out of your science comfort zone?

I'm an MA student in English, just finishing up some last pre-med requirements, possibly getting a second bachelor's in Microbiology. Looking to get published in a literary journal soon. But that's about it for me 😛

I look at reddit in between checking application statuses.

I take a multi and lift heavy.

Heavy Weights, Whey protein, and da ladies.

Yoga, lifting and baking/cooking. I'm also taking a class about the Bible right now.

My music collection (19,000+ on iTunes) is also another hobby of mine. Well-roundedness doesn't have to be out of the box, just make it something you enjoy 😛

Try my best to excel in the activities I am involved in.
Definitely do not try and be TOO well rounded, with too many EC's it looks obvious that you were just doing those for you AAMC apps. Focus on a few and really thrive in them.

Congrats on the future publication. Keep that mindset. You want to have something to show for each activity your involved in!
Best of luck!

I graduated from Ball So Hard University with a Bachelor's of Athletics in Basketball. I'm putting it to good use trying not to think about the application cycle too much.

I eat about 5000 calories a day and try to limit burning calories.

Took me a moment, but well played!

To the OP, do things that interest you, whatever they are. Be interested in the world around you and open to opinions other than yours. There are thousands more of cliched saying I could insert here but it just boils down to keeping in mind that there is a big big world out there and a lot to learn from it.

:luck:

 I was definitely surprised no one had said anything at that point about being, well, well-rounded 😎.

On the real though, if you mean well-rounded as an applicant and areas of interest, I have picked up biking and continued volunteering while in the search for a job. Job market atm is pretty dim.

I am taking a philosophy class because I wanted to take a step back from science. Is it normal that I have to write three 1000 word essays on Epistemology in two days.....because I'm really starting to love science right about now...........

Watch a lot of CNN, listen to avicii + john mayer + hip hop, and drink all day saturday while watching CFB.

Edit: And work out!!!! Gotta get that in

I am an amateur writer who has composed some horrible works on the internet. Under a pseudo name.

It's all about the snacks.

I stay well-rounded by staying the hell away from other pre-meds and hanging out with my pledge brothers. I'll go for a run every so often to balance out my nights out.
