I'm looking at the MSAR and I still can't tell if a school is on rolling or non-rolling admissions! Am I looking in the right place? If MSAR is the place to go, please tell me how I would be able to determine if a school has rolling/non-rolling admissions (and how would I know if they have rolling/non-rolling interviews?). Thank you!

Contact admissions office directly. 🙂

I wouldn't recommend bugging the admissions office directly to ask a question like this...though I guess there's no real harm done.

There should be a line in the MSAR that say something about first date of acceptance offered. If it's in late-Feb or March, then its probably a non rolling school. If its much earlier, then its probably a rolling school.

Why not? You don't tell them your real name, and they don't know your real name. They're people. They're not that scary. 😉

is it safe to assume that most schools are rolling?

except some big exceptions, (i can only think of harvard)

Well I think shemarty was implying that it would be a waste of time for the OP and the staff considering how the OP has an MSAR with the information readily available.

Beyond that, however, some of them really are scary.

Just go to specific school's website FAQs. The info is there.

Exactly.

Last year, whenever a school-specific thread (of the schools I was applying to) had a question, I was often the one who called the office to ask. But when the info is posted on their website / MSAR, its a waste of time for the office staff to answer that question. But I'm sure they frequently get phone calls asking questions whose answers can be found online, so they're probably used to it.

(Can someone confirm whether or not what I said was actually accurate? I think I saw that line in the MSAR when I flipped through it a year ago but I don't remember.)

Non-rolling schools that I know of: Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Duke, Penn
Rolling schools that I know of: Michigan, UCSD, Baylor, Vanderbilt, Hopkins, UCLA, WashU, UCSF, Stanford
