Hello everyone! I just have a quick question regarding LORs.
Does the AADSAS provide any guidelines to LOR writers as to what things about the applicant need to be put in the letters?
(e.g., asking writers to describe the applicant's general character, tell whether he/she has shown academic aptitude, etc.)
Or does the AADSAS simply ask the LOR writers to write letters in whichever way they see fit?
Also, do the LOR writers just have to writer letters or have to answer questions (e.g., essay questions about the applicant) in addition to having to write letters?

No, they don't say anything at all. It's up to the discretion of the person who is writing the letter. They just write a letter, no questions are involved.

I also had a question about LORs. This is my very first time applying and never been through the application process. I have already confirmed LORs from professors and doctors, etc. However, do I ask for electronic copies, scanned copies, do I ask the individuals writing for me to send them to AADSAS, or are they able to login somehow to AADSAS to upload the letter for me? I'm just confused where to take the LORs and what form to receive them. Thanks in advance for the help.

The easiest way IMO is to enter their emails on the AADSAS app and it sends them an email to create an account.

Thanks for the response. This may sound like a silly question, but can I still create my AADSAS account before registration opens? I know one professor that I am very close with already has an account with AADSAS - do I still send him some type of invite on AADSAS? Do you think it would be easier if I made an account, logged in, and snooped the website for a bit?

There isn't really much of an advantage to doing this. The AADSAS app is very short and straight forward. As long as you have your essay written the app can be done in a few hours. The longest part is manually entering your courses and grades.

You will enter his email on your LOR request page. From there, I'm guessing he will just log in.

Like @Advance said, there isn't much benefit to creating an account now. It'll just ask you basic background info (address, DOB, parents info), your course history, emails for LORs, personal statement, and school selection list.

Thank you both for your responses. I appreciate all the help! 🙂
