How does AADSAS operate?

This may seem like a dumb question, but now that the application cycle started for me I've been wondering how AADSAS deals with processing thousands upon thousand of our applications. Is AADSAS fully automated? Or do they employ a bunch of admin staff in a warehouse somewhere, physically opening up your transcript envelopes, scanning them and stuffing envelopes of apps to send to dental schools? And what about GPA verification -- is that done by a computer program (I would think so) and then audited here and there by humans?

There is this company called Liaison International that processes all the apps. They are also the ones who process the apps for Vet School and Pharmacy school. I suppose they hire people to do all that including GPA verifications.
