How does negotiating merit aid work?

Hello,

“I hope your day is going well. My name is hiraeth9 and I am currently accepted at School B. Unfortuently, when choosing schools I am constricted significantly by scholarships and financial aid opportunities. I’ve also been accepted to School A with an X amount of financial aid in scholarships. However, I would much rather attend School B because of X, Y, and Z reasons. Having said that, I was wondering if there are any additional scholarship opportunities at School B that I may apply to or be considered for?

Enjoy the rest of your day”

Sincerely,
Hiraeth9

Sorry for stealing the post...but if I have an equal amount of scholarships from two schools- can I use this as a leverage to finalize my decision?

What are you gonna say?

"That school is giving me the same amount of money so give me more?" 😕

When one school is giving a huge amount of money it makes natural sense to ask the other school to match it, especially if you have compelling reasons to go the school that you are asking money from. But if it's the same amount of money then you're just trying to pin one school against the other out of greed.
