So, I'm thinking about retaking the DAT and can only do so in September. I know by then if an app is submitted it'll be pretty late... so I was wondering how this whole retake thing worked and when they get the scores and how they review or re-review your app...

I took the DAT on Friday and my scores were ok (AA 19 and PAT 22). I'm not positive if I'll get interviews/get into school with scores like those, so I was thinking I should retake it and try to bump up my AA.

Does anyone know how they'll go about reviewing my application if I decide to do a retake? My score that I got on Friday is already gonna be sent out, so when they receive that do they just start looking at my app and make a decision? Or, if I sign up for a retake, will they know that I'm retaking it and not even look at my app until my other DAT score in september comes in also?

Orrr... do they look at my app with my first DAT score... decide if it's good enough based on that and if it is, then great they'll offer me an interview... or if it's not good enough, they'll wait for my next DAT score.

Basically, I don't want to be in the late pool of applicants way in September/October. But if it's not going to hurt me to take the DATs again, since I do have a score already and I'll submit my app in a few days, and it can only benefit me if my score improves (or if my old score was good enough, they'll already have decided), then I might think about taking it again.

Does my question make sense?? lol

Also, I didn't get much feedback on my last post about my scores... do you think AA 19 and PAT 22 is a good enough score?

I think schools will most likely put your app on hold until September if they know you're retaking it. You should call to double-check.

If you have a good gpa then I think your scores are decent.
