There is this Salvation Army by my school. I want to start volunteering at their food pantry and soup kitchen. I got a packet of information from them and it seems like on the outside it is just called "Salvation Army."

In the activities section do I write, "Salvation Army Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry" to make it clear that they have different branches, if you will? Or is it better to just label it as the "Salvation Army"?

My understanding is there is a separate section for "experience name" and "organization." You can do whatever you want as the experience name (Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen Volunteer) and put Salvation Army as the organization.

The name isn't that important, adcoms know what the Salvation Army is. What is important is that you list your volunteer supervisor and their contact info, and make sure they will back up your described duties and volunteer hours.

Then, there's a paragraph you get to write where you describe what you actually did.

Be sure to keep your own records of time spent on the activity, just in case the organization doesn't have meticulous record keeping for their volunteers' hours. And sometimes even good records get lost.
