So having been rejected from WashU and Hopkins in the last few days I am getting a little nervous. Luckily those two were schools I was just luke-warm about anyway due to complicated matters with a non-trad MD/PhD. Anyway, now I am nervous about getting rejected by places I am really interested in - namely Yale and UPenn. UPenn is waiting on my history application to review my file, so I am not worried yet. But Yale... I really like their history of medicine faculty and their medical school curriculum. Is it too early to call to "check on my status" and at the same time gush about how much I like Yale? Or, should I send a "letter of interest"?
