How hard is it for international students to get into a dental school compared to U.S. citizens?

I know private schools are more international friendly, but I do think that they still have less chance of getting into them. How difficult is it for international students to get into dental schools in the States?

Thank you in advance.

there are spreadsheets that have this data on SDN I believe

EXTREMELY HARD, but I did it 😉
Hi I'm new to this amazing forum site but may I ask how were your stats and acceptances. I'm currently a freshman at the University of Texas and I'm just looking for some inspiration and hope.

Hi! If it's your dream to become a dentist, you absolutely have a shot! You do need higher stats as an international student but if you kill the DAT and have great extra-curriculars your chances will be good! Moreover, as dental school costs are rising, there will most likely be a decrease in the number of applicants by the time you're applying so this may help you! However, because it is a stressful and long process, I would make sure that dentistry is your dream career! Good luck, and don't forget to enjoy the journey!

It's not impossible. I got into a top ranked public school with a scholarship that costs me as much as in-state tuition! You can do it!

My stats were 4.0 GPA, 22DAT (I don't remember the breakdown, I took it when you were in kindergarten), 4 years of research experience (about 20 presentations/abstracts, 2 grant awards, 1 first author paper), and a decent amount of extracurricular activities.

My advice is to not dwell on this, especially as a freshman. Strive to make everything in your application is flawless.
