this has probably been discussed before but i really can't search all the threads b/c time=money..ANYway...is it harder to get into dental school than to medical school? and is the DAT harder than the MCAT? i know they are two different test as far as one is passage based and the other is just recall..but is it harder? i been thinking i might wanna do dental school instead..a recent visit to the dentist made me think twice..im not sure yet, i want go shadow a dentis first and research this a little more..but im just curious as far as how hard it is..any insight would be great!! also b/c im new to this, what are the best dental schools? worse? thanks guys..i appreciate it!! 🙂

oh...and do a quick search for the best dental schools. There are tons of threads covering that topic. You will save a ton of time just reading those threads rather than waiting days to get a good response to your question.

difficulty of getting into dental school depends on you. For some people it's hard, for others it's not.

There are NO best dental schools or worst dental schools, just plain ol' dental schools.

Unlike dentistry where you can start practicing once you graduate, medical students have to complete a residency program. The residency matching process is highly competitive and the status of the medical school you graduated from carries a lot of weight in placement.

Not very true...your board scores, grades, and letters hold more weight than the school you went to. I have plenty of friends that went to state schools and matched into top programs in Emergency med, orthopedics, radiology, etc. I even have a friend that went to medical school in Australia who matched into EM without a problem.

Pre med kids are just very narcissistic, its that simple.
