How important is english?

So I was reading Kornberg School of Dentistry requirements and noticed that applicants must demonstrate proficiency in english. I have never been proficient in english, but I can demonstrate excellence in math and sciences. Will this effect my chances of acceptance.

You'll need to be able to attend an interview which is conducted entirely in English. Also in the clinic you'll need to know it for your patients. I don't think a school would let someone into the class if they can't articluate well in English. But your post seems like you have English proficiency already...

Basically are you able to speak English ( I assume you can since you wrote this post in English language). Also some schools require 6 credits of english (i.e 1 full year or 2 half year courses in English at university level).

I am pretty sure if you went to university in US/Canada and you took 6 credits of English you should be fine.

Think of it this way. Would you effectively be able to describe a complex procedure to a patient? Think about it, would you feel safe if some dentist couldn't connect w/ you and wanted to start working on you? I WOULDN'T!
