I believe it's very important. I surely completed one on time for my school of choice. However, I did not complete one for "south" and roughly one day after receiving my pharmcas package they send an email to fill out their supplement...and this was after the deadline.

Very important. If you don't turn it in, they will not look at your application. Also, the questions that they can't ask on Pharmcas get asked there. I'm no adcom, but I'd say that they are pretty important.

like beav said...you MUST turn one in, in terms of content---i believe the supplemental is way more important than the pharmcas one.
a lot of people apply to a school through pharmcas but don't go through with a supplemental, thus, the ones that do are distinguished from a bunch of numbers (GPA, PCAT, etc) by their supplementals

To add to the previous posts, the supplemental application is the school's way to get their desired information from you whether it's specific grades for specific courses or specifc essay questions that mirror that school's needs. It can be very important or just as formality. For example, my Wingate supplemental didn't ask for much while my Creighton interview consisted of multiple and long essay questions that correlated with the school's mission.

I think its pretty important, at least in the regard not to make the same mistake as me. I filled out my UIC supplemental application. Sent it expedited mail or whatever to make sure it got there. I got the confirmation that it did and I thought all was well. Then my grandpa got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, so that kind of took up all my time. The other day I went on pharmcas to check the status of my Purdue application and saw that a portion of my UIC application was "received in an unacceptable format." I emailed them and found out I apparently sent the pre-pharm course checklist from Midwestern instead of the UIC one, a stupid mistake on my part. He said attention to detail was important and there was nothing I could do. I guess I understand his point, but it makes me mad that i worked hard for my 3.7 GPA and 98%tile PCAT score only to be rejected because I made a stupid mistake. Thank goodness I put in my deposit to Purdue.

So make sure to double and triple check all your forms!!!!!
