Because .. if one is going to have to worry about something later, there is no reason not to start worrying about it now. Saying nobody will care is one thing. Saying they will only care post-II, or pre or post A, is not exactly reassuring if it's a potential problem!!!Yeah, this is a question you should worry about AFTER you get an acceptance or WL. As Goro said, why would members of admissions committee waste time searching through thousands of applicants online and spot that one post where you were vulgar.
I see your first point, but you are REQUIRED to disclose IA and criminal records on AMCAS. If your social media presence is of importance, it’ll be asked on secondary for sure. I see what you mean through the comparison but some susceptible readers might confuse the severity of a Twitter rant to the same as IA and criminal records.Because .. if one is going to have to worry about something later, there is no reason not to start worrying about it now. This isn't that different from saying don't worry about not disclosing IAs or criminal records, since they too will only be checked post acceptance. I'm not saying this needs to be disclosed, but it certainly seems worth worrying about if it presents a potential issue down the road.
Totally agree. My point has nothing to do with disclosure, and everything to do with being concerned if there is reason to be concerned. Saying something doesn't matter because it won't be looked at until later is just not an answer, because the same could also be said about those disclosure items.I see your first point, but you are REQUIRED to disclose IA and criminal records on AMCAS. this includes friends, SOs, family, bosses, patients, your pick up soccer team, your kid's boyfriend's parents...ou should assume every single thing you have ever posted online will be seen be everyone who will be in a position to judge you for the rest of your life, and you should be guided accordingly.
