How is huntington hospital in pasadena?

I have been reveiwing programs in southern california.I read scutwork reviews on this one but couldnt get a clear idea of how it is.
Also since its a very small program, what do you think are the disadvantges or advantages of this.Thanks.

At USC we can rotate there. It's a nice friendly hospital. the ancillary staff is awesome, the computer system is very easy and minimizes scut. Everything gets done super fast too. The patient population is fantastic (mostly medical patients) and you see a lot of fairly sick patients. There is open ICU and you run codes as an intern. There is lots of autonomy, almost too much (rounds are often quick and dirty, no details). I think the attendings are super laid back and the house staff is as well. There are plenty of conferences and they are well attended. The hours are probably more similar to a Derm residency than an IM residency which is great if you want a good lifestyle as a resident, but not great if you want to be the best doctor you can be. I think the quality of interns starting Huntington and USC is about the same but the residents finishing USC are clearly stronger than the ones finishing Huntington. On the other hand, the residents at Huntington are happier than the ones at USC. I got the impression that the Huntington residents have a hard time getting fellowships also. Its definitely primary care oriented.
