how is interview important?

what about the extracurricular stuff? i would put it as 25% for each: GPA, DAT, Extra, Interview. Also i heard they see if your ugly or good looking at the interview and that plays into it too, if that is true, I AM SO SCREWED LMAO.
Haha, they don't usually discriminate based on looks, but they would like to see a person present in a professional and clean manner. Remember, dentists are health care professionals which means that they should act and look.... professional.
I have heard that they put more emphasis on interviews, GPAs and DATs than they do on extracurricular activities. Most schools just want to see that you've had some exposure to dentistry and that you have given of yourself to a charity event or organization.

Oh and the title of this thread needs to be changed from "how is interview important" to "how important is interview" because the interview process is extremely important for most school's final decisions.
I know at some schools your grades/DAT/extracurriculars get you the interview but beyond that its up to you to impress them in the interview which will ultimately get you the acceptance.
From what I remember... It can make or break you...
Also most of the time its 50/50 chances of getting in...I think UOP gives you a higher probability of getting in when you get an interview...

it deponds. IMO good numbers will knock dental school doors and they will open the door but they will accept you or not is so related to interview!
don't be suprise when you see somebody with 19 is accepted and somebody with 21 is rejected from same school( assume almost same GPA).

In plain English: they have considered you once granted interview. prove your worthwhiles to the adcoms and you shall get in (hopefully).
Think of it as a job. If your interview goes crappy. You probably will not be working their- unless something else is drop dead amazing.

I would agree with this, and believe it was what got me in.
I had many many flat out rejections due to some sub par stats. However, at the few schools I was able to get interviews, I was 100% when it came to turning those into acceptances. (Due to some sweet talking of course 👍)
