Hi everyone,

The next cycle is nearing and I wanted your feedback on the list of schools I will be applying to. Should I add or delete any?

oGPA: 3.82
sGPA: 3.85
~ 100 Shadowing
~250 Volunteer
CA resident

Schools:
UCSF
UOP

UCLA
USC
Midwestern AZ
ASDOH
OHSU
University of Washington
Roseman University
Texas A&M
University of Texas Health Science Houston
University of Texas Health Science San Antonio
Thinking of adding NOVA or University of Florida

Thank you

I would add Nova instead of UF because UF gives preference to FL residents.

Take UF off for sure. It seems you're trying to stay close to home, but I'd also add NYU.

I'd remove all Texas schools. Very very low OOS acceptance.

I mean if I don't try I am automatically denied. I think it is worth a try. Or is it essentially 0% acceptance chance?

I heard that if you manage to get into a Texas school as an OOS, you probably had some ties with the school. That could just be a rumor though. But that 2%, as said above, is no rumor.

Ditto on the Texas schools. Not worth the extra ~$500 you'll spend. If you have unhuman stats, then sure.

Good GPA, average DAT, so barring some ridiculously impressive ECs and a whole lot of luck, I'd remove the Texas schools and UW. There are plenty of other OOS friendly schools you can still add.

My Grandfather has been faculty at a Texas school for nearly two decades and I have many family ties to the State of Texas, yet I was not a resident. I did not even receive an interview invite.
