In terms of pay, demand, job opportunities, What does your role entail? Is it mostly medication mgmt? Do you also incorporate lots of psychotherapy? If you guys don’t mind, how does your day-to-day job look like - beginning of shift to end?etc...

Agreed. Search function.

What we do is extremely varied both in setting and focus. Can't possibly list them all here. I see complex psychiatric patients, adults and C&A, many of whom have pain syndromes and substance abuse issues on inpatient settings, private insurance and MediCal/non-insured and Medicare. Another psychiatrist may do ECT or TMS. Another, mostly psychotherapy. We as psychiatrists can do almost anything sans a scalpel, I exaggerate but you get the idea.
