Hey all!

New here but want to consult. How late is too late? I'm a non traditional in I completed a postbacc (one of the ones where you take the same courses as medical students), have a subpar GPA (UG oGPA3.3 and Grad oGPA 3.6) and a 516. Worth waiting a cycle or should I submit in the coming days. I understand I'm getting down to the wire, but would love some other opinions.

Understand I botched on the primaries, but am going to be extra speedy on secondaries 😉

Thanks!!

ps sweep the leg

@LizzyM says you are early if you have everything submitted ("complete") by Labor Day. Verification will take about 20 days soon, so if you submit your primary reasonably soon and pre write secondaries, you'd at least be on time? That's how I see it anyway, but I'm an optimist. It'll depend on your LOR status and primary app completion (are you just starting? PS done? Etc).

Note: I'm not accounting for stats or EC's, this is just general.

Do everything you can to avoid being a reapplicant (it's not a fun time)

My benchmark is that you be complete (verified, secondary submitted, LORs submitted, MCAT score) by Labor Day (Sept 4 in 2017). That's just less than 6 weeks. You might be able to make it under the wire but unless you've started (finished?) writing your PS and the descriptions of your experiences, you do run the risk of making errors due to haste and that can have a devastating effect on your chances.

I have everything in my primary done! I just need to make some finishing touches and submit. I think I'll just send it. Thanks for the help, y'all!
