DAT- July 21st

I will be submitting my application by Friday. I am a Texas resident, but will also be applying to about 7 OOS schools. When I submit I will be missing my DAT and my committee letter.

Here are my concerns.
My committee told me my letter will be submitted by August 31. Should I forgo the committee letter and just obtain 2 science letters? I want to do that so the only thing that will be missing is my DAT.

When do you think my application will be ready to go if I forgo the committee letter?

The general rule of thumb is apply as early as possible (meaning, have your crap in). That estimated date of your letters is kind of late. If you can avoid that and still meet the letter requirements for all the schools you're applying to, I would suggest doing that.

I've just heard too many horror stories about letters. Suddenly Aug 31 turns to Sept 15, then they're missing and no one has an answer, etc.

Thanks, I am just worried that the schools that I am applying to will frown upon the fact I did not use my health committee, but I want my application in as early as possible.

I know that most schools strongly prefer the committee letter if your school has a committee.. but this is a good question.. you might want to call schools and find out which option would best suite you.
