Hi there,
I am in bit of confusion regarding validity of part 1 scores. Could any one update me on the same. I took my part 1 in 2009, after that I could not apply because some personal reasons. I am thinking to apply in the next cycle. Was wondering if my part 1 scores would be still be considered. Or should I take it again. I don't know really confused about this. Any help is highly appreciated.

I think this depends on the school you are applying to. For example, NYU states that the NBDE1 scores cannot be older than 5 years. Others schools have no mention of a time frame, your best bet would be to contact the programs you want to apply to directly. Good luck!

Thanks Stereoperio for your input. I know Nyu is pretty clear about it but none of the other schools mention anything but I am afraid it might effect you chances. Since I had decent score in part 1 I was not prepared to take it again. I am taking part 2 now. But suddenly I realize i might have to write the part 1 again is kind of overwhelming. Any idea about BU and California schools? Anyone?

I highly doubt it would affect your chances (especially if you pass Part2), but don't take my word or anyones word here, just call each program, ask to speak to the person in charge in admissions and ask directly, I'm sure their answers would all be slightly different.
