How long before calling to see if your file is complete?

How much time should I wait between sending in LOR's and the secondary app, and calling to see if they have gotten everything? I want to make sure everything gets there but I dont want to annoy the and sound neurotic (i.e. "i submitted my secondary yesterday, just wanted to make sure you got my email that stated that I sent my secondary").

I called Tulane after a couple of weeks, the lady told me their system was down...or system of a down, I dunno, either way she said not to worry, I don't think they care if you call, as long as it isn't all of the time. I would also like to know about Columbia, because you can't tell based on the website.

Hey cerb, if you submitted your preprofessional file request recently, then they won't be complete for awhile. I went to the advising office last week and they said our advisor is out of town and won't be able to start sending out lors until monday of next week.

hmm, I requested a few last week and I believe they were sent. I must have caught her before she left. I don't know for certain though since i've been faxing her my requests since I work 8-5 M-F

Sorry if this sounds anal, but has anyone's Yale status check been updated? I sent stuff a long while back, and it still says they haven't received anything, and the website says not to call them! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

hey calstudent, mine says "YES" on everything (i.e. LOR's with names of my senders and date it was received) except for that last line, i think its something like "will be reviewed by adcom on..." where it says "NO." anyone else with the same thing?

You should probably wait 2 weeks. Often times you can see if they cashed your check and then you know they received it. You can either call or email but often times I just emailed because it was easier and I usually got a response within a couple of days. Make sure to supply your AAMC ID# and name if you do email.
