I e-submitted my application on July 14th and AADSAS sent out the application on July 31st.

My application was delayed due to one LOR.... and it was completed on august 31st.

I'm a canadian applicant... and I've applied to BU, UB, Tufts, Temple, Creighton, Upenn, Columbia, Indiana, and NYU...

I got only one interview from Indiana and it's not even pre-dec interview...

I'm getting tired of waiting ........

I don't know what to do..... sigh....

Any suggestions?

Thx in advance

Yeah it sucks but the only thing you can do is wait besides trying to improve your app.

What's wrong with a post-December interview?
Most dental schools are on rolling admissions, which means even if you get a post-December interview you still have a very good chance of getting in.

I believe several Canadian appl posted recently about same problem- not hearing from schools...
educating Canadian dentists is not a priority to US dental schools so it is quite possible such appl might be "bottom of the barrel" group of applicants to be considered after everybody else...

is this the case with ALL canadian applicants? i think individual characteristics have a part to play as well though... OP, what are your GPA, DAT, ECs like?

I wouldn't doubt it. Aren't there more dentists retiring than dentists entering the workforce in the US?
Also, some state school even do this to OOS applicants from the US.... why? A shortage of dentists in the state is one reason.

When tired of waiting, withdrawing applications would end the misery.

I think that may be an issue we would face with the baby boomers retiring over the next 5-10 years but I think due to economic times less are retiring.

Regardless of how many are retiring, there are only a certain amount of seats in dental schools and more and more ppl are applying to ds.

You are looking for compassion for someone who is petulant?

This is true. I haven't been around here as long as most of you, but even I know that if I ever posted something that exposed my vulnerable side, I certainly wouldn't expect a warm e-hug from doc toothache. But I would expect a nice sarcastic one-liner that would make me chuckle.

Hey I thought Doc Toothache's response was appropriate. The application process is a waiting game.. accept it or withdraw.

Everyone here is playing the waiting game. The waiting period starts when you have the last part of your app submitted, not necessarily when you e-submit. In your case you had everything submitted a month and a half ago, most people don't hear back for 2-3 months once they have everything in. An early e-submitted app isn't considered early, I don't think, if you submit late LORs or DAT scores....though I'm sure such an app gets a higher priority than one that was e-submitted late.

Hahah. Agreed. Everyone is going through the same process. If you are concerned about your application, call the schools and address your situation. They will tell you their stance on educating Canadians
