How long for letter of rec?

Hey everyone,
I have a question for you all. I still have not received my last letter of recommendation and was wondering when I can email the writer for a "gentle reminder" and when is too soon. I asked for the letter about 4 weeks ago but did not finish working with the writer until 2 weeks. So theoretically he's only had 2 weeks- is it pushy for me to email him already??

Yes, this application cycle. I'm going into emergency if that makes any difference, and none of the places I've applied has even started offering interviews. I just don't want to be pushy with the letter writer, but don't want to be too late either.

I think a gentle email should be OK. Just thank him again for agreeing to write you a LOR and mention that you've already sent in you application. If it were aug or even sept I might give him a git more time, but since it's almost mid oct I think he'd understand why you'd be contacting him about it so soon after you asked.
