Hi everyone,
My personal statement is 2 page long. Do you think it is too long ? Should I cut it shorter ? I am very happy with it right now; however, I am afraid that program directors won't have time to read my 2 page long personal statement. Thanks !!!

That might be a bit too long...I have read that you really shouldn't go over 600 words which is about 1.5 pages. I have also heard numerous people stating that you don't want to go over 1 page. You run the risk of them skimming or even skipping parts of your PS if it is too long. Mine was about 3 pages and I managed to cut it down to 1.5 but I felt I couldn't cut anymore without sacrificing quality and my 'message,' so I just stuck with that length.

Too long. Think about it this way - if someone (e.g. a program director) is looking at anywhere from 100-500 personal statements, they won't take the time to read something so verbose. Everyone is busy, and succinct is better. I agree with one page being the max. I have read hundreds of them, literally, and there are a few people who can fit in a great personal statement into a half-page. Those are far more impressive than a well-worded two-page long statement.
