When I took it, which was about 5 years ago, I think my scores took about 3 weeks to come back. And I think they came on a Wednesday, so it would have been 3 weeks from the Wednesday after my exam.
This is not always the case though. When I took Step 2, the results took almost a full 8 weeks to be reported. Not sure why it takes longer some times than others. I would be curious if anyone knows why there is such a wide range of time for when scores come back.
I currently have this same question about my step 3 scores. Just took it recently.
You may want to check the USMLE website to see if the is a bulletin regarding score reporting. There is currently one for USMLE step 3 that states that scores from Mid February may not be reported until April 27...that is 9 weeks from my exam.
Hopefully that won't be the case for you or other Step 1 takers, but I have had to wait about that long before, and the waiting was pretty brutal even though I did fine in the end.
Moral of this story is: Check the USMLE website, and hope for 3 weeks instead of 8, not much else you can do.
just wondering if I wrote my exam on tues april 5th 2011 when would I get my score n would I count that weeks wednesday since I heard it takes 3-4 wed.
