How long would an MCAT score from 2014 be valid considering the test is going to change in 2015?
One cycle? Longer?
One cycle? Longer?
I believe it is 3 years as that is the standard. The validity of your test won't change just because the format changes the next yet.
Interestingly, some Canadian schools are requiring the 2015 MCAT immediately for the 2015-2016 cycle.
Two or three years are the most common periods of validity that MCAT scores are considered. A handful consider them for 4-10 years.
Do you have a source for this? I'm using an old MSAR that says otherwise. I'm using the MSAR for med students starting in the 2011/2012 school year.3 years to MATRICULATION, not ACCEPTANCE is the standard.
Also, you could've used Google
Just as the wise @gyngyn always said "MCAT scores, like herpes, will never go away".
I think what they mean by this is that even if you retake the MCAT, the old score is still visible to schools, whether it expired or not. Correct me if the intent was different.Nice memory, Agent B. It will serve you well.

It's always there. It's always a factor, even when it's "expired."I think what they mean by this is that even if you retake the MCAT, the old score is still visible to schools, whether it expired or not. Correct me if the intent was different.
Various school bulletins. Get the most recent MSAR. Also, I can only speak for northeastern schools.Do you have a source for this? I'm using an old MSAR that says otherwise. I'm using the MSAR for med students starting in the 2011/2012 school year.

The MSAR I was looking at said the same thing for every school, including northeastern schools. I can't get a copy of the recent MSAR right now.
Edit: If you have the MSAR, go head and look at it real quick and tell me what it says.
Are you referring to last year's MSAR or the most recent one? If you're referencing last year's, then it makes sense that Jan. 2014 is the last accepted MCAT because it's at/after the application deadline for most schools.I have the MSAR and it seems like it varies by school. Most say for this application cycle the oldest MCAT they accept is from August 2011. Also, there's this weird part that says "latest MCAT accepted: January 2014" does that seriously mean if you took the MCAT after that you can't use it to apply this cycle?

But nowhere on that site does it say its 3 years from matriculation. This is a bulletin,
where you find things like "MCATs more than three years old must be retaken."
