In terms of course load? Is Ochem + Physics and P/F philosophy class considered a cop-out (how adversely will it affect chances, if at all). I'm not trolling. This serious business.

The only thing you would ever have to explain on AMCAS is if you interrupted your study...meaning you took the semester off.

If you are clearing up your schedule to make room for MCAT prep that is a VERY VERY good idea.

@Stu, do you mean another P/F course? I know med schools want to see some humanities courses, but is it OK if I take them P/F?

@KO, I was thinking more for interview time. Will they ever bring up a light course load as a negative? Not for the MCAT, but I will be taking on a lab tech job and clinical/non-clinical volunteering along with some orgs. So, given my other commitments, 3 courses (1 of them P/F) OK?

I took every non-science course I could as P/NP and no school has brought it up so far. I wouldn't do this if a school explicitly states they require Humanities/Social Science as a pre-req though.

I agree, I took two quarters of super light, easy EC's to study for the MCAT. I never got asked it about at interviews.

Philosophy can be hard, so P/F might be a good idea here....I just wouldn't use P/F too often. The course load seems light to me, but light is better than poor grades. Maybe you can add a PE class, or something, to get yourself to at least 12-13 units.

You can take as many or as few courses as you wish. Just try not to be on the five year plan because you only took 3 classes a semester. That would look weak.
