How many characters is the AMCAS personal statement max?

Hello,

I was wondering how many characters is the AMCAS personal statement max and is that number with spaces or without spaces? My p.s. is three pages now and I think it's probably way too long--it's hard to cut stuff out, though.

5300 and I believe that includes spaces. If your pages are single space, then yeah, its definately too long. I found mine to be about 1.5 pages with 1.25" margins at the side.

yup 5300. and i think each paragraph break (enter) is like 2 characters or something. just try rewriting/combining sentences...be concise=write meaningful sentences.
