My transcript shows that Gross Anatomy is 165 Hours/ Week and Biochemistry is 97 Hours/ week.

Popmed:- 37 hours/ week
Genetics:- 52
Immuno:- 44

How many credits is that if you were to compare it to say a full 20-credit semester in undergrad?

Depends if you have a 1 semester, 2 semesters, quarters, or systems, etc. you can always call 🙂

Based on a credit per semester system how many credits would say a M1 Anatomy class be?

Generally, 15 contact hours = 1 semester unit at most universities, so your 165 hr course would equate roughly to an 11-hr course. That said, most UGs wouldn't consider lab time equal to lecture time hour for hour in those calculations, which I know that at least my school does....

So you're telling me an entire class of Anatomy is only 11 credits? people in undergrad take more than 11 credits.

Undergrads don't take biochemistry, anatomy, histology, physiology and embryology simultaneously. That doesn't include the labs, patient days, clinical reasoning and other crap we also participate in.

secondly, the number of credits a class is is meaningless in medical school.

It would be 11 credits if it was spread over 15 weeks. If you're doing it in 7 instead, it's more like 24 credit equivalent. Or if you're taking it along with biochem, genetics, "popgen", and immunology over said 15 weeks, then we're looking more at 26ish credits.

Look at it this way... most undergrad gross anatomy courses are 4ish credits. Med school's is 11. It's a world of difference.
