For those working in a retail environment how many rxs do you feel comfortable checking in a day?

Consider a scenario where you are working a full day (13-14 hours) and have good tech help. Drop off, pick up and production are covered with minimal interruptions from your staff for questions.

How many do you feel is safe for you to check?

Also....for practicing pharmacists, when your verifying tablets/capsules/etc.....are you opening the bottle to check the contents? If you do...are you just looking at the size/color or are you matching up the tablet imprint with your computer image or stock bottle?

Having worked with many other Rphs over the years Ive noticed everyone has different thresholds for workload and ways of checking...just curious to know what works for you and what your comfortable with.

Assuming everything is typed right and its a simple look over the script, profile, and drug...with minimal interruptions, I could probably easily do 50-60 an hour. When doing readyfill, I can do up to 40 an hour (count, label, verify by myself)...and I actually have no interruptions or distractions. So I'd imagine in a perfect setting and with someone else counting, I could do a few more than that in this hypothetical perfect tech help bubble of verification.

It really depends on your help. When I'm all alone, some night gets almost unmanageable with as little as 8 in an hour if I have multiple things to manage all at once.
