This year is one of the "worst" years from the point of view of the number of applications. In one of the programs, it actually appeared that by now they already got more than 200 apps, only about 60 of those being from AMGs. They quoted that this is the largest # of application they have ever gotten by this time of the year.
Let's try to be optimistic, anyway.

nowadays according to the prep4usmle poll, many IMGs apply to 100 or more in many specialities. also nowadays seeing double 99s on the usmle is not rare.

The increase in numbers doesn't surprise me, as the UK more or less shut their doors to IMGs recently with the implementation of a visa requirement. I'm guessing that many English speaking docs from the Commonwealth, in particular India and Pakistan are applying to the US instead.

What worries me though, is that many of these applicants may not have a real love for psychiatry even with their double 99s.

That said, I'm glad that I have a handful of interviews, though I'm hoping for a couple more.

Six invites, four formal rejections so far (plus a program that stopped downloading my stuff at the end of September).

Hi,

I know these questions seldom get answered but I wanted to know if anybody has any idea about the St. Elizabeth and the Harvard South Shore programs?

I know that they are 2nd and 3rd tier programs (esp. in comparison to the other new england programs) but I was wondering if anyone had anything to contribute about the programs.

What I mean is that a program downloaded my ECFMG status report, my CAF, and little else even though my LoRs, etc... have been available. As they don't bother to get more information, obviously, they will not be considering me further.

friend;s i just started my volunteer internship in psych and its not on my CAF' what should i do to let programs know that i m doing internship in psychiatry and is it effect my outcome for matching as i have 88/78 CSA passed GC .and only recieved 2 iv and 2 exams for jamica and brookdale NY....thanks for input.🙂
