I know that the field is really competitive (trust me...every day brings the joy of new rejections, or so it seems), but I was wondering how many interviews puts you at least at a point where you should be able to match somewhere on your list? In other words, what is the maximum number of interviews that you know of that someone went to, and still went unmatched?

Any input from people that have been through this extremely pleasurable ordeal in the recent years would be greatly appreciated.

I am going through this nightmare this year (I think I am getting an ulcer too 🙂 🙂 ) but from some of the old posts I've seen here, there were nubers like 9 ranked and not matched and 4 ranked and matched. So it's reallt a draw of luck, as far as I can tell, and not the number of interviews. But having said that, as far as I'm concerned, the more the better (interviews).

In general, somewhere along the number of 10 is I think decently comfortable. More importantly, it's the number of total spots you're competing for. If you have 10 interviews, but only vying for 1 spot per program...that's not as promising if you have 7 interviews, and all of them are offering 2-3 spots.

Thanks...hopefully it'll all pan out for the best. Good luck all.
